~ East Shore ~
One
of
the
biggest
natural
attractions
is
the
Fern
Grotto.
The Wailua River, which means "Two Waters"...
leads to the Fern Grotto...

Also... all over the island, you could find georgous flowers...
ginger,
plumeria, hibiscus, and orchids.  These were all taken from
Smith's Tropical Garden.
The Wailua Falls, on the right, may seem familiar to you
if you ever watched
Fantasy Island!
The Opaekaa Falls, on the left, means "Rolling Shrimp" in Hawaiian.

Aside from the stunning North Shore...  the next closest place to heaven on the island of Kauai is the East Shore.  The town of Lihue is the business center of the island where all the hustle and bustle takes
place.  If your arriving by plane, you'll most likely land at Lihue.  But...  if you venture inwards a bit... it's lush and green, and rivals the north shore.
