~ Miami ~
This is the Sofitel Hotel in Miami Florida...  we stay there the nights before and usually after our cruise's.  It's located approximately five minutes from the airport... and since all our stays have been facing the airport runway...  I find myself enjoying the peaceful arrival and departure of the airplanes.
The rooms are extremely posh and oversized.
The airport shuttle is even an airconditioned limo van!!!
Our bedroom, and its bathroom, where the toliet paper was even embossed with their Sofitel "S" logo!!!
The Sofitel Hotels' main restaurant...  La Riviera, serving French Mediterranean cuisine.  Just outside the restaurant is the bar...
After the cruise, we had the option of taking a wild ride through the National Everglades via an airboat.  The ride was actually peaceful, albeit loud. All types of wildlife were in full view.  Especially the gators!  The picture, top right, is of Cleo.  She's six years old and about 7 feet long...  She swam up right along our side of the boat.  The white part of the picture is actually Scott's tan shorts... so you can see just how close she is!  The bird in the bottom left picture, coasted in for a ride, and a handout...  flew away with a piece of bread right out of the drivers hand!
We also caught an alligator wrestling show... more funny than scary!  Norman was the gator's name, and he was actually pretty docile... or tired after a day of hard work...  every twenty minutes was a new show!
The gator park had beautiful birds of all kinds, just walking the grounds.  This poor peacock was vying hard for her attention, but she wasn't interested, and kept walking away...

The pool, the lobby, and a statue at the Sofitel...
