|~ Coco Cay ~
Royal Carribean's Private Island
|Coco Cay is Royal Carribean's private island.
It was a welcome "rest" from Nassau's hustle and bustle the day before... There was plenty to do ... or nothing at all. The beach on the left is the first beach you come to... as you can see, it's crowded with people! Yet, if you walk about three minutes down the walkway, you'll find empty chairs, and hammocks, which is the picture on the right...
|We decided to rent a waverunner and go out on an excursion with a group of people. We went out for an hour, and had a BLAST!!!! The water was soooo crystal clear, and exactly like you see it in the pictures!!! The lighter waters were about 6 feet deep, the darker waters, were the same, but full of sea grass. In some of the spots we stopped at, we could see starfish laying on the bottom, in beautiful shades of crimson red!!! Our excursion took us all throughout the Berry Islands... stopping by one in particular, in which the movie "Blow" was based on!|
|Just after arriving off the ferry, you could find your first bar to go to... Junkanoo Jack's. Junkanoo is like Mardi Gras, or Carnival, only in the Bahamas... You could also find cash only shopping in RC's Straw Market. We found everything to be much more expensive than buying items in Nassau or Key West... but hey, I guess RC can do that, it's their island!!!
We shopped elsewhere...
